“We all know people who have had to make decisions between their rent and food and medication or they’ve had to ration their medication and that’s just wrong …”
This is what I’ve been saying from the start. The U.S. healthcare system is a scam and Big Pharma’s cash cow. In other countries, governments bargain with drug companies to keep prices low. In the U.S., they get patents and charge 500 times more, saying they need to cover “research.” But guess who pays for most of that research? Taxpayers, through government grants to universities. So we fund the science, and they sell it back to us at insane prices. Innovation doesn’t go to peopleit goes straight to profit. You get your medicine 20 years later when it’s finally cheap. Yay.
Meanwhile, India sells the same stuff for pennies. The U.S.? Nah, we let drug companies and insurance play hot potato with the bill. Insurance takes your money and ghosts you when it’s time to pay. Doctors and nurses aren’t the problem. It’s a system built to drain your wallet while pretendin to care. You’re not uninsured you’re overcharged.
God bless Mark Cuban.
Informative.
